Introducing The Big Four Anniversary Collection
To celebrate four decades of business, The Big Four Anniversary Collection was designed to spotlight Kiki’s four favourite gemstones: blue topaz, peridot, morganite and fire opal.

Inspired by the ballet ‘Jewels’ by George Balanchine in which each movement portrays a precious gem and its history, Kiki’s Big Four showcases gemstones that have played an integral part in the history of Kiki McDonough, with each stone symbolising an important part of Kiki’s journey. After months of sourcing the perfect gemstones, this collection was meticulously designed to showcase each gem and its distinctive character, while paying homage to each ‘movement’ of the brand in glorious technicolour.
Prima ballerina and long-term friend of the brand, Lauren Cuthbertson, is the face of this dazzling collection. An icon of ballet and the definition of elegance in motion, Lauren's journey mirrors our own: refined, resilient, and constantly evolving.
Kiki introduced blue topaz in the early 90s, and this has become arguably her most popular gemstone. A soft sky-blue hue is her chosen colour, and many customers (including brides searching for their something blue) reach for this gem time and time again due to its beauty and versatility. Kiki’s first ever design included a sophisticated bow motif, so the blue topaz pieces in this collection honour this legacy with diamond ribbons running throughout.
‘Blue topaz is very feminine and pretty and always looks beautiful in earrings framing the face.’

Peridot has long been Kiki’s favourite gemstone, with its distinctive green hue reminiscent of well-groomed summer grass. Peridot was first mined in Zabargad, an island in the Red Sea, during the rule of ancient Egyptians. Adored for its yellow-toned green sparkle, they believed it to be the “gemstone of the sun”. Thought to cleanse the mind and promote peace and compassion, peridot has been a standout gem of Kiki’s collections for many years. To commemorate Kiki’s love of peridot, we’ve paired a specially sourced selection of gems with bursts of diamonds in a statement necklace, earrings, ring and bracelet, set in 18ct yellow gold.
‘I started using peridot about 30 years ago and people seemed to be a little skeptical about wearing green, but I love it and think it’s the most beautiful shade.’

Morganite brings a touch of pretty pink to The Big Four Anniversary Collection and signifies Kiki’s love for ballet and the impact it has had on her designs. Morganite is the pink cousin of emerald, as they come from the same gem group, beryl, and the finest quality morganites are sourced from Madagascar and Brazil. Said to be the gemstone of unconditional love, beautiful morganites are paired with glittering diamond flower motifs to pay homage to the floral theme that has run through Kiki’s collections for decades.
‘I have been using morganite in my designs for quite a few years now. Its baby pink is such a beautiful, soft colour and suits everyone.’

Fire opal represents the pioneering introduction of exciting and lesser-known gemstones to the business, which began with Kiki’s 2014 collection ‘Playing with Fire’, where she introduced fire opal to the brand for the first time. There is only one known source of fire opals in the world, Mexico, and the gems get their orange glow from traces of iron oxide as they grow over millions of years. Said to intensify the passionate feeling of love and bring inner peace, the striking fire opals in these pieces are enhanced by their diamond halos.
‘There can’t be anyone who doesn’t love the intense fiery red of fire opal. I always use faceted stones because they look like they are actually on fire.’
